While Dream-class ships lack Imax theaters, trampoline parks, and some exclusive cabin areas and eateries, they still offer plenty of exciting features like ropes courses, water parks, miniature golf courses, and sports courts. If you've been on a Vista-class ship, you'll feel at home on a Dream-class ship.
Splendor class
Ships in class: Carnival Splendor (2008).
.
The one-of-a-kind Carnival Splendor! This ship is truly unique in the Carnival fleet, with a design originally intended for Costa Cruises. But don't worry, it still has all the exciting features you love from Carnival's Conquest-class ships. And the best part? The top deck area has been completely redesigned with an enlarged space, a retractable glass roof, and a water play area for kids! Plus, the spa area is bigger and better than ever before. You don't want to miss out on this incredible ship!
Conquest class
Ships in class: Carnival Freedom (2007), Carnival Liberty (2005), Carnival Valor (2004), Carnival Glory (2003) and Carnival Conquest (2002)
The Conquest-class ships are a great option for those who prefer a slightly smaller cruise ship experience.
While they may not have as many amenities as the newer Vista-class and Dream-class ships, they still offer plenty of fun activities like water play areas, miniature golf, and adults-only retreat areas. And with dining options like Guy's Burger Joint, BlueIguana Cantina, and steakhouses, you won't go hungry on your trip. Plus, sailing with fewer passengers means you can enjoy a more relaxed and less crowded vacation.
Spirit class
Ships in class: Carnival Miracle (2004), Carnival Legend (2002), Carnival Pride (2002), Carnival Spirit (2001) and Carnival Luminosa (2009).
Carnival Spirit-class ships are the perfect choice for adventurous travelers. These vessels are designed for "all-weather" cruising, with retractable domes that cover the pools when it's cold and stormy. With their relatively small size, they can access smaller ports, making them ideal for far-flung destinations. Plus, they offer the largest percentage of balcony and oceanview cabins in the Carnival fleet, perfect for watching the stunning scenery of Alaska. The Carnival Sunshine class, formerly known as the Destiny class, is a unique fleet in the Carnival family. Despite being among the oldest ships in the line, they are also among the newest due to their complete gutting and rebuilding from the waterline up. Each ship has been given a new name, with Carnival Sunshine being the former Carnival Destiny. Carnival Sunrise, formerly Carnival Triumph.
It's important to note that while Carnival's older ships have undergone makeovers, they still don't have all the features the newer ships like Carnival Panorama.
